Earth Hour LA Lights Out Video


Here is a small sample of the buildings, landmarks, sets and restaurants that participated in Earth Hour 2009 Los Angeles.

REVEREND AND RICKIE BYARS BECKWITH LIGHT UP THE STAGE FOR EARTH HOUR AT L.A. LIVE!



Rickie Byars Beckwith and her husband, Reverend Michael Bernard Beckwith, lit up the stage, adding song and spirit to an enthusiastic crowd in Nokia Plaza at L.A. LIVE. Between the gorgeous colors and the inspired message, the Beckwiths along with the Agape Choir brought all in attendance to their feet by celebrating today's commitment to tomorrow's cleaner greener world.

LIFE DRUM CORE BRINGS PEOPLE TO THEIR FEET FOR EARTH HOUR!!

Life Drum Core leader Lonnie "Mega Nuts" Marshall conducts the Life Drum Core kids through their riveting performance of "Funeral for Fossil Fuels" on stage in Nokia Plaza. Their drums were made from recyled plastic buckets that they had each hand painted for the show Saturday night at L.A. LIVE! As a spectacular example of local participation, the Life Drum Core brought it home for Earth Hour!

LEEZA AND TONY SUPPORT EARTH HOUR AT L.A. LIVE!

Host Leeza Gibbons and Emcee Tony Okungbowa share an Earth Hour moment before the show in Nokia Plaza at L.A. LIVE. Leeza opened the show with her winning smile and Tony got us all in the mood to take a little action by spinning dance tunes from his award winning album, Total Dance 2009.

MAYOR VILLARAIGOSA SPEAKS TO LOS ANGELINOS AT L.A. LIVE'S EARTH HOUR

The overwhelming success of Earth Hour Los Angeles deserves a shout out for the dedicated efforts of the City of LA and it's various divisions. As yet another action taken by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and his administration to make LA the greenest city in the nation, their support of Earth Hour through the additional participation of DWP, Public Works, Street Lighting, Council Districts, Green organizations and City and County officials has helped to raise awareness by calling Los Angelinos to action. Go Green LA!
